Description

Heritage Red Raspberry

General Information

Heritage Red Raspberry has a number of great qualities.  This an everbearing raspberry, with two different crops each year. The plant grows with self supporting, upright fruiting canes.  In the summer, there is a crop of berries on the floricanes, which is the previous years growth.  The second crop comes about on the primocane, the current years growth, from late September until frost.  These canes hold an abundant crop of large, sweet, dark red berries.  They are great for fresh eating, freezing or for making jams and jellies.

Additional Information

Rubus idaeus ‘Heritage’ grows to a height of 4 to 5 feet, with a spread of 3 to 4 feet.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8.  It tends to grow best in full sunlight.  Heritage does best in loamy, well drained soils with moderate amounts of moisture.
