This impressive tree blooms midsummer with upright, panicled yellow flowers. Brown fruits mature to look like miniature Japanese lanterns! The Goldenrain Tree makes an interesting specimen tree. Plant in small groupings along the street or terrace. Great as a small shade tree or lawn tree. What a beautiful sight to see them bloom in July!
Koelreuteria paniculata grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 20-30′ tall with a similar spread. Plant in zones 5 to 8. Heat and drought tolerant. Tolerates wind and air pollution. Good for bees and butterflies.
