Gold Flame Honeysuckle
General Information
Gold Flame Honeysuckle is a great plant that could fit well in different areas of your landscape. This vine can grow up to 15 feet in height. It is usually grown on supports of some nature, such as: trellis, arbor, fence or on a pergola. It can also be grown over a rock, or can even be trained into a small shrub. The flowers provide the bulk of the interest, but other features standout here as well. Small oval leaves, to 2 inches in length, with a deep green-blue color grow on reddish-brown branches to provide a good backdrop for the blooms. The most abundant blooms occur from June into August, with sporadic bloom thereafter. The flowers are 2 inches long, with a tubular shape, opening slightly at the end. They have a reddish-pink exterior and a golden color in the interior of the flower. They have a wonderful fragrance and are very attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies.
