General Information

Fredonia Grape is a deciduous fruiting plant. It is vining plant, with a vigorous growth habit. This grape is typically grown on some form of supports. The Fredonia Grape has deep green foliage, giving the plant a nice appearance through the growing seasons. The plant will typically flower in late spring, with the large fruit clusters ripening by late summer time. The black grapes are large in size, with a delightful sweet and tangy flavor. They are perfect for fresh eating, jellies, wine-making, amongst other uses.

Vitis labrusca ‘Fredonia’ will typically grow 8 to 10 feet long, with a variable spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9. Fredonia Grape tends to grow best in full sunlight. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
