Description
Fireworks Goldenrod
General Information
Fireworks Goldenrod is a late season bloomer that will be the center piece of your landscape in the fall. The stems of the plant grow in an upright fashion. They bear narrow to oval leaves growing opposite one another up the stem. The tiny yellow flowers grow towards the end of the stalk in dense clusters. The composition of the flowers and the way in which the stems shoot out, gives it the look of fireworks shooting out from the plant. The September to October bloom period for this plant gives it great bloom interest when many other plants are without their flowers.
Additional Information
Solidago rugosa ‘Fireworks’ grows to a height of 3 to 4 feet and a width of 30 to 36 inches. The plant is recommended for climate zones 4 to 8. Grows best in well drained, average to wet, soil. Removing dead flower clusters will encourage additional blooms. Fireworks Goldenrod is attractive to butterflies and bees. Can be divided every few years to control additional spread.
