General Information
Emerald City Tuliptree is a very nice deciduous tree. This is a taller tree, but with it being more narrow than other tulip trees, it has the versatility to be placed in a number of different landscape areas. It grows as an upright , oval shaped and densely growing shade tree. The leaves are larger, with a flat, rounded base and two lobes at the top. They have a glossy appearance and have a nice dark green color all through the growing season. In the fall, the leaves are a beautiful bright yellow. In late May to June, tulip shaped flower bloom on the tree. The petals are greenish-yellow, with an orange base area. These flowers are great for attracting hummingbirds!
Additional Information
Liriodendron tulipifera ‘JFS-Oz’ grows to a height of 45 to 55 feet, with a spread of 20 to 25 feet. It is recommended for USDA planting zones 4 to 8. It tends to grow best in full sunlight. Emerald City does well with moderate amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
