Description

Eastern White Pine

General Information

Eastern White Pine features pyramidal form as a young tree, and matures with asymmetrical, wide spreading branches.  The branches ascend from the center at  a 45° angle and have soft, blue-green needles.  After 5 to 10 years, 4-8″ cylindrical cones are produced.  The cones generally grow in clusters on the top third of the tree.  Eastern White Pine is fast growing and easy to transplant.  Use as a specimen or accent tree.  Great as a screen or hedge. Plant in an area where it has plenty of room to grown.

Additional Information

Pinus strobus grows best in Full to Part Sun.  It will grow 40 to 50 feet tall with a spread of 15 to 20 feet.  Plant in zones 3 to 7.  Deer and rabbit resistant.  Attracts birds. Cold hardy.
