Bowles Golden Sedge
General Information
Bowles Golden Sedge is an ornamental grass. It is smaller in size, with a nice arching form. The plant forms as a dense clump of foliage, with a great deal of ornamental value. The grass can grow well near damp areas or in a variety of other landscaping areas. The foliage will emerge a very attractive bright yellow in the spring. It transitions to a yellow center and green edges for the rest of the growing season. In the fall in tends to take on more yellow tones.
Additional Information
Carex elata ‘Aurea’ grows to a height of 18 to 30 inches, with a similar spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9. Bowles Golden Sedge does best in partial shade conditions. It does well with moderate amounts of moisture. It is not know to have any disease or insect issues.
