Blue Zinger Sedge Grass

General Information

Blue Zinger Sedge Grass is a delightful ornamental grass.  It is a dense, clump forming grass that spreads slowly.  The grass blades are narrow and arching, with a very nice graceful look. The grass blades have a nice blue green color.  The foliage retains great color all through the growing season, even retain good color year round in the warmer climates.  Small greenish-white grass-like flowers  appear in the summertime.

Additional Information

Carex flacca ‘Blue Zinger’ grows to a height of 12 to 18 inches, with a similar spread.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 5 to 9.  It can grow well in full to partial shade.  Blue Zinger sedge does well in average soils in moderate to moist amounts of water.  It is said to have a good tolerance to low water conditions.  It does not seem to have significant disease or insect issues.
