General Information
Blue Hobbit Sea Holly is a great plant that will fit well in different areas of your landscape. It is a compact plant, growing in an overall rounded shape. It is great for borders, flower beds or any sunny area. The leaves are oval in shape and are dark green in color. The flower stems are silver-blue in color, rising above the foliage. The flowers are bristly and egg shaped. It is reminiscent of a thistle in appearance. The flowers bloom over a long summer season, with a purplish-blue color. Attracts bees.

Eryngium planum ‘Blue Hobbit’ grows to a height of 8 to 10 inches, with a spread of 10 to 12 inches. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8. It grows best in full sunlight. Blue Hobbit tends to grow best in lower moisture conditions with well drained soils. It is not known to have any disease or insect issues.
