Blue Angel Hibiscus

General Information

Blue Angel Hibiscus is a moderate sized shrub, growing towards 8 feet tall.  It grows in an upright fashion.  The great ornamental appeal makes it perfect for a variety of landscaping areas.  The foliage is dark green, giving the plant a nice appearance all through the growing season.  Flowers in abundance from early summer into the early fall.  They are single flowers that are light lavender-blue in color, with a deep red center eye.  This hibiscus has extra value, as it is said to not produce volunteer plants.

Additional Information

Hibiscus syriacus ‘Greba’ grows to a height of 6 to 8 feet, with a spread of 4 to 5 feet.  It is recommended for USDA planting zones 5 to 9.  It grows best in full sunlight.  Blue Angel Hibiscus does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.  It is said to have a good deal of drought tolerance.
