General Information
Bleeding Hearts False Sunflower is a perennial plant. It is taller in size, reaching up to 40 inches tall. This plant typically grows in an upright fashion, with great ornamental appeal. It will work well in a variety of landscape settings. The foliage is deep green with bronzish overtones. It will provide the plant with a nice appearance through the growing seasons. The flowers will bloom in abundance from mid summer to the first fall frost. They will emerge orangish-red in color, maturing to golden orange with red centers. Great for attracting bees and butterflies!

Heliopsis helianthoides var. scabra ‘Bleeding Hearts’ will be 36 to 40 inches tall, with a similar spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9. Bleeding Hearts False Sunflower can do well in full to partial sunlight. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.

Absolutely beautiful! Shipping was quick, packaging was perfect, and immediately after I planted, it looked as if the plants had been established for a couple of years. I planted this Bleeding Hearts False Sunflower near my red hypericum, and I’m looking foward to the lovely fall colors lasting through to the 1st frost.
