General Information

Black Ice Plum is a delightful fruit tree. It moderate in size, reaching 12 feet tall. This tree has nice ornamental appeal, along with delicious fruits. It tends to have a generally upright and rounded overall form. The tree will have nice deep green foliage, keeping a nice appearance through the growing seasons. Abundant clusters of bright white flowers in the springtime. The plums typically ripen in early August, earlier than many others. They are bluish-black in color, with delightfully sweet yellow flesh. This tree will require a pollinating partner, Waneta or Toka are great choices.

Additional Information

Prunus ‘Lydecker’ will be 8 to 12 feet tall, with a spread of 8 to 10 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 8. Black Ice Plum tends to do best when planted in full sun conditions. It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
