General Information
The remarkable, deep, rose-red foliage appears to glow on the Rose Glow Barberry! Its leaves emerge in spring with a mottling of green and white. The colors will remain more intense if planted in full sun. Inconspicuous, tiny white flowers emerge in clusters in spring. The Rose Glow Barberry is a mounded shrub with thorns that originated in the Netherlands. In fall and winter, bright red berries add extra interest. It will make a wonderful, natural barrier in your landscape for both animals and people. Excellent as a foundation planting. Plant in mass for a colorful, low border, hedge or barrier.

Berberis thunbergii ‘Rose Glow’ grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 4-5′ tall with a similar spread. Plant in zones 4 to 8. Deer resistant. Attracts birds. Somewhat drought tolerant. No serious insect or disease problems. Leaf spot, anthracnose, root rot, rust, wilt, aphids, webworms and scale are potential problems. Prune in early spring. Can be pruned heavily to desired shape.
