American Gold Rush Black-Eyed Susan is a great plant that would fit well in different areas of your landscape. It is perfect for borders, flower beds or any sunny area. It grows in an upright fashion, holding all the flowers up nicely. The leaves are narrow and deep green in color. They have a hairy texture. The flowers bloom abundantly from midsummer to early fall. They are bright yellow in color, with a black center cone. They are attractive to butterflies and to birds for the seeds. Great in cut flower arrangements!

Rudbeckia ‘American Gold Rush’ grows to a height of 18 to 24 inches, with a similar spread. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 9. It tends to grow best in full sunlight. American Gold Rush does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils. This plant is said to have good resistance to mildew.
