All year long, you hear about examples and stories of plants from my garden. Here are some photos from my garden this year. I thought you would like to see some of the work I do on weekends, and how much my imagination works. Most of the beds are 3 years old. This first view is a shot from my living room window looking south.
This is my shade island. I am in the 1st year of astilbe trials for the area, and I also collect bellflowers. I line all my bed with field stones.
This is the southern end of my shrub border between my east neighbors. I started beautyberry here from seedlings pulled as weeds, and added annuals this summer. This shrub border runs north 200 feet to the edge of my walled kitchen garden (photos coming next year).
I love making fairy gardens in containers. Here are two of the ones I did this year, both in old garden wagons.
And finally, my fountain garden. Both the pump and the cream can produce a steady flow of water burbling over the stones.
Happy planting and Happy New Year!
