Description

Zagreb Coreopsis

General Information

Zagreb Coreopsis is a nice perennial plant.  It has great ornamental appeal, making it perfect for borders, flower beds or a variety of other landscaping areas.  This plant forms as a compact clump of foliage, with very nice flowers.  The leaves of this plant are quite narrow and needle-like, giving it another common name of ‘threadleaf’ coreopsis.  These leaves are medium green in color.  The flowers are smaller, up to 2 inches wide, and grow in abundance beginning in the early summer.  They are bright yellow, with a slightly darker yellow center eye.  Great for attracting butterflies!

Additional Information

Coreopsis verticillata ‘Zagreb’ grows 12 to 15 inches in height, with a similar spread.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 9.  It tends to grow best in full sunlight.  Zagreb does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.  It is not known to have any serious disease or insect issues.
