Wilton Blue Rug Juniper

General Information

Wilton Blue Rug Juniper is a creeping juniper that forms a wonderful mat of blue  foliage. Foliage turns somewhat purple in the winter time. Dark blue berries generally grow on mature plants, but may not be present on cultivated plants.  It is low maintenance. Excellent for ground cover.  Plant along slopes or banks to help control erosion. Great for shallow, rocky soil. Beautiful when planted to drape over a retaining wall or rock pile.

Additional Information

Juniperus horizontalis ‘Wiltoni’ grows best in Full Sun.  It will grow 4-6″ tall with a spread of 3-5′. Plant in zones 3 to 8. Cold hardy. Heat tolerant. Deer and rabbit resistant. Attracts birds. Pollution tolerant.

Care & Shipping Notes

Plant in average, well drained soil. Prefers sandy soil.  Heat and drought tolerant. Mulch to help control weeds until established. No serious insect or disease problems.  Somewhat susceptible to blight, cedar rust, and root rot.  Aphids, bagworms, scale and spider mites may be occasional pests.  May die back in the center.  NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE IN THESE US STATES AND TERRITORIES: AK, HI, GM, PR, VI.
