General Information
The Rising Sun redbud features purple-pink, sweet pea-like flowers in early spring. However, its bright, heart shaped leaves are what set it apart from other Redbuds. Enjoy the blending colors of pumpkin-orange, yellow and light green. The changing colors provide extraordinary beauty throughout the seasons! The bark has a hint of yellow giving The Rising Sun Redbud good winter interest, also. Excellent ornamental, specimen tree. Beautiful small tree for any landscape.
Additional Information
Cercis canadensis ‘JN2’ grows best in Full to Part Sun. It will grow 8-12’ tall with a spread of 6-8’. Plant in zones 5 to 9. Good drought and cold resistance. Heat and burn resistant. Attracts butterflies. Found and developed by Ray and Cindy Jackson of Jackson Nursery. Gold Medal Plant Award 2012.
Care & Shipping Notes
Grow in average, well drained soil. Prefers acidic soil, but will tolerate a variety of soil types, including sandy and clay. Plant in an area where it is protected from the wind. No serious insect or disease problems. NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE IN THESE US STATES AND TERRITORIES: AK, HI, GM, PR, VI.
