General Information
Sum and Substance Hosta is a perennial plant. This is a very large hosta, reaching 3 feet in height. It will have a nice mounded overall form. Sum and Substance Hosta would be a great choice for a variety of shaded landscaping areas. The broad, ridged leaves have a good thickness, with a glossy appearance. The leaves will range in color from light green to golden yellow, depending on light conditions. The Sum and Substance Hosta will have bell shaped flowers in the midsummer time, lavender in color. They are quite attractive to hummingbirds!

Hosta ‘Sum and Substance’ will be 30 to 36 inches tall, with a width of 5 to 6 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 3 to 9. Sum and Substance Hosta will do well in full to partial shade conditions. It will do well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils.
