The Schuette Oak produces abundant acorns. Glossy green foliage grows on this slow growing tree. Good upright, symmetrical growth. It is a cross between Bur and Swamp White Oak. This great oak is native to many areas of the Midwest. It was discovered by J.H. Schuette. Very vigorous and produces sweet acorns at a young age. Young trees have white bark. Great landscape tree. Use as a specimen or in a mass planting. Works well for wetlands. Use to help control erosion along stream banks.
Quercus x schuettes grows best in Full Sun. It will grow 40-50’ tall with a similar spread. Plant in zones 4 to 7. Attracts a variety of wildlife, including songbirds.
