General Information
Purpleicious Speedwell is a great plant that will fit well in many different areas in your landscape. This is a smaller sized perennial, growing to perhaps 20 inches tall. It forms as an upright clump plant with foliage growing to about 8 inches high, with flower spikes growing above. The leaves are small, growing to about 2 inches in length. They have an elliptical shape with serrated edges and a nice moderate green color. The flower spikes are wide at the bottom, before tapering at the top of this spike. The flowers have a great dark purple color that bloom from the late spring into the mid-summer. If the spent flower spikes are removed, it may encourage re-bloom.

Veronica ‘Purpleicious’ grows to a height of 16 to 20 inches with a spread of 9 to 18 inches. It is recommended for climate zones 4 to 8. This plant prefers to grow in full sunlight. Purpleicious grows best in well drained soils with average and consistent levels of moisture. In poorly drained soils, it may develop root rot issues. It is not known to have any serious disease or insect issues.
