Norway Spruce

General Information

Norway Spruce features strong, graceful branches on pyramidal form.    Young trees are more stiff, with pendulous branches and mature to a beautiful, graceful tree. Long, narrow brown cones grow 4-6″ long and 1-2″ wide. Thin, peeling scales form the bark of the Norway Spruce. Highly recommended for windbreaks. The fastest growing spruce tree. Be sure to leave plenty of room for this tree to grow!

Additional Information

Picea abies grows best in Full Sun. It will become thin and ragged with heavy shade.  It will grow 40-60′ tall with a spread of 25-30′.  Plant in zones 2 to 7.

Care & Shipping Notes

Plant in average, well drained soil.  No serious insect or disease problems. It is host to western spruce budworm and mountain pine beetle. Prune dead or damaged branches in early spring, and to maintain more compact habit. NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE IN THESE US STATES AND TERRITORIES: AK, HI, GM, PR, VI. Also, WE NO LONGER SHIP TO CALIFORNIA due to Department of Ag restrictions on live plants.
