Description

Little Bluestem Grass- Native

General Information

Little Bluestem Grass is native to America.  Slender, green leaves grow in upright clumps. At the base of the clump, the leaves are tinged blue.  3″ long racemes of purplish bronze flowers appear above the foliage in late summer. These racemes turn to clusters of silvery white seed heads that create great interest.  They often persist into the winter. Fall foliage is a beautiful bronze orange. This ornamental grass has great fall and winter interest.  Use it along slopes or ditches to help control erosion. Plant in group or mass plantings for best effect.  Great for borders, wild gardens and native settings.
