The U-Pick Patch opens at dawn and closes at dusk. We close the patch every couple of days to ensure that there are plenty of ripe berries for all of our pickers. Lawn
Spot treat broadleaf weeds in your lawn if necessary. Treat on a day that is 50 degrees or warmer. Rain or irrigation within 24 hours of application will reduce effectiveness.
Prune summer-flowering shrubs such as pink spirea, potentilla, hydrangea…
House plants help cure cabin fever!
Sterilze pruners with a 10% bleach solution. Rinse, dry & oil to prevent rust.
Time to apply a pre-emergent to form a barrier for sprouting crabgrass.
Start tomato plants indoors now.
Plant now: cabbage, peas, spinach & turnips
Trim evergreens, cut out damaged wood.
Plant potatoes, onions, lettuce, horseradish roots, and asparagus crowns
Start annual flower seeds indoors. Ageratum, dusty miller, moss rose, etc.
Apply lime sulphur on fruit trees to prevent problems with fungus.
Clean out birdhouses, but don't paint them!
